A little introduction
First to say hello.
Last to say goodnight.
Clover loves a conversation. He is the first to start one in the morning and the last to finish in the evening. Curious, friendly and full of personality, he likes to know what is happening and who is involved.
Clover has found another way to make himself heard: he plucks the enclosure wire with his beak as though he’s playing a guitar. A little musician with an instrument built into the furniture.
He inherited that talkative nature from his mother, Princess Rahni. He looks remarkably like her too: a blue breast, white face, and white wings edged with fine dark markings.
His enthusiasm for making friends extends beyond the budgies. He has also tried to win over Ralphie and, during her life at the Manor, Nelly. The scarlet-chested parrots were not always quite as enthusiastic about his approaches.
One moment from his life
An interested
neighbour.
When Princess Sweetpea was sitting on eggs, Clover often perched on top of her nest and peered inside.
Brumbie was her partner, but Clover was exceptionally curious about the activity. A new generation was on its way, and he wanted to be close to whatever happened next.
The family connections
A Bootie through
and through.
Clover was King William and Princess Rahni’s only baby together, and William’s third and final chick.

King William Bootie
A gentle, generous presence in the budgie flock. Clover loved his father very much.

Half sister

Pippy and Clover share their father, King William. Her mother was Queen Georgie.
A friend who helped him grow
Mimah Bootie
Once Clover left the nest, Mimah helped feed and nurture him, just as he had helped with Billy and Pippy.
Familiar places
A day in Clover’s world.
01 / Morning
The conversation begins.
Clover gets the day talking. Once he is up, there is usually something happening that deserves his attention—and his contribution.
02 / Through the day
Room to explore.
Clover free-ranges indoors, calling in at Grand Central Station. He spends plenty of time in Emerald Perch Paradise, where the budgies make themselves at home once Ralphie emerges in the morning.
03 / At night
Home to Siesta World.
At bedtime, Clover returns to Siesta World Extraordinaire, his familiar sleeping quarters with the other budgies.
An occasional outing to the deck brings some sunshine and a change of scene. It is a welcome part of his world, rather than a fixed daily routine.
